CITO Board

KAREN BAZYLEWSKI

Karen is from Coquitlam.  She is a Project Coordinator with Keith Plumbing & Heating Co. Ltd.  She is a Past President of the Canadian Construction Woman and was a member of the founding committee for CITO.  Karen has been active on several construction industry boards and education committees.  She was the driving force behind Vancouver’s first ‘Live’ Construction Tour for secondary school students and a recipient of the 2002 Outstanding Woman in Construction Award.  Karen’s focus has been to educate the public on the many career options within the construction industry.  She has been involved in the construction industry for thirty three years, from labourer to president.

RANDY CALLAGHAN

Randy is from Surrey and is a Field Personnel Advisor for PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc.  He is a red seal certified Carpenter and has spent 34 years in the ICI sector.  He also holds his Canadian Human Resources Professional (CHRP) credential.  Currently he manages the PCL apprenticeship program as well as recruiting the skilled tradespersons for PCL in BC.  He is an advocate for career opportunities in the construction industry working with and supporting many secondary and post secondary construction programs.  He is on the Provincial and National Tech Committee for Skills Canada.

ROBERT (BOB) COWAN – Past Chair

Bob is from Richmond and recently retired as the Executive Vice President of the Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR).  Bob is an engineer by profession and has over 30 years of experience in airport construction and maintenance.  He also brings extensive board governance and senior management expertise to the CITO Board.

GREG HUBBARD – Chair

Greg is from Vancouver. He is Vice President, Operations of LMS Reinforcing Steel Group in Western Canada.  He has been involved in the reinforcing steel business in BC and Alberta for over 20 years, ten of which where he was active in the field.  He is a certified journeyman Reinforcing Ironworker and has an understanding of all levels of the industry including:  developing strategies to recruit trades workers, recruiting and  training apprentice, developing in-house training programs, and human resource development and planning.

CAMERON LESLIE – Vice Chair

Cameron lives in Prince George. He is currently Sales Manager and a Director with All-West Glass which currently employs 14 apprentices. He is a certified Auto Glass Technician and is excited to share his over 20 years of trades experience with the CITO Board of Directors.

DANIEL (DAN) MOTT

Dan is from New Westminster.  He has been President and General Manager of Mott Electric Ltd. since 1982.   Dan is a third generation Electrician with a son currently registered in the electrical apprenticeship systems and is an employer of 50 apprentices.  He is a past board member of CCA and is currently a Director of the Canadian Electrical Construction Association, BC Safety Authority and Electrical Construction Association of BC.  He is the current Chair of the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum and has also been involved with hospital boards, foundations and other community organizations for many years.

CLAUDE NOBAUER

Claude is the President and is a founding partner of Control Solutions Ltd., an independent controls contracting company located in the Lower Mainland.  Claude is a journeyman Electrician, holds an Electrical Contractors “A” license and brings more than 30 years of trade experience to the CITO Board.   Control Solutions Ltd. has been in operation since 1994 and employs apprentice electricians.

CHRIS PULLEN

Chris is from Kelowna and he is a certified red seal Electrician.  He is the General Manager at Keldon Electric & Data Ltd. which operates in the Interior of BC and employs more than 50 apprentices.  Chris is an active board member of the Southern Interior Construction Association, an alternate for the SICA Board Executive and is keenly interested in the training of future trades people in the construction industry.

WAYNE PYE – Secretary/Treasurer

Wayne lives in Victoria and is the founder and CEO of Pye Construction which has been in continuous operation for over 30 years and is an employer of apprentices.  He is a certified red seal Carpenter, is a registered residential builder and is Gold Seal certified by the Canadian Construction Association.  He is a member of the Vancouver Island Construction Association and brings many years of board experience to CITO.

ALEX RIFTIN

Alex Riftin is a certified red seal Electrician and holds a masters degree in Electrical Engineering.  He is a Principal and is the Senior Electrical Engineer of Omicron Architecture Engineering Construction Ltd. which operates in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, the Province of Alberta and works in the integrated project delivery design/construction field.  Alex brings many years of professional and employment expertise to the CITO Board of Directors.
