CITO Board

SHAWN BOYD
Shawn Boyd is a Director on the Board of Houle Electric Ltd. Shawn served his apprenticeship as a Construction Electrician at Houle and then worked as a foreman, estimator, project manager, division and branch manager.  Shawn feels strongly that training and apprenticeship programs are vital to the continued success of the construction industry in BC.  His broad range of experience brings valuable insight with regard to the needs of all industry stakeholders.

GREG HUBBARD – Past Chair
Greg is from Vancouver. He is Vice President, Operations of LMS Reinforcing Steel Group in Western Canada.  He has been involved in the reinforcing steel business in BC and Alberta for over 20 years, ten of which where he was active in the field.  He is a certified journeyman Reinforcing Ironworker and has an understanding of all levels of the industry including:  developing strategies to recruit trades workers, recruiting and  training apprentice, developing in-house training programs, and human resource development and planning.

CAMERON LESLIE
Cameron lives in Prince George. He is currently Sales Manager and a Director with All-West Glass which currently employs 14 apprentices. He is a certified Auto Glass Technician and is excited to share his over 20 years of trades experience with the CITO Board of Directors.

ERIC LINDQUIST
Eric is from Sooke, BC.  He is an Owner/Director of Cascade Fire Protection Ltd. which specializes in the installation and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, fire hydrants and backflow devices.  Cascade Fire Protection services Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.  Eric has been working in the piping trades for 18 years and holds an Interprovincial Red Seal designation as a Sprinklerfitter.  As an active employer of current and certified apprentices, Eric has expressed an interest in having an active role in training apprentices at the provincial level.

PETER NIELSEN
Peter works for PCL Constructors Westcoast in Richmond as the manager for special projects.  He holds a Red Seal Certificate as a carpenter as well as a diploma in Building Technology and a degree in Consrtruction Management.  Peter sits on program advisory committees at BCIT and is a member of the Vancouver Regional Construction Association. PCL  employs apprentices in a variety of construction trdaes and Peter enjoys working with them on the job.  He is also involved with high school students to raise the profile of trades as a career choice.

CLAUDE NOBAUER – Vice Chair
Claude is the President and is a founding partner of Control Solutions Ltd., an independent controls contracting company located in the Lower Mainland.  Claude is a journeyman Electrician, holds an Electrical Contractors “A” license and brings more than 30 years of trade experience to the CITO Board.   Control Solutions Ltd. has been in operation since 1994 and employs apprentice electricians.

WAYNE PYE – Chair
Wayne lives in Victoria and is the founder and CEO of Pye Construction which has been in continuous operation for over 30 years and is an employer of apprentices.  He is a certified red seal Carpenter, is a registered residential builder and is Gold Seal certified by the Canadian Construction Association.  He is a member of the Vancouver Island Construction Association and brings many years of board experience to CITO.

ALEX RIFTIN - Secretary/Treasurer
Alex Riftin is a certified red seal Electrician and holds a masters degree in Electrical Engineering.  He is a Principal and is the Senior Electrical Engineer of Omicron Architecture Engineering Construction Ltd. which operates in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, the Province of Alberta and works in the integrated project delivery design/construction field.  Alex brings many years of professional and employment expertise to the CITO Board of Directors.  

CHRIS SMITH
 Chris is a manager for Nelson Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc. in Cumberland BC and holds a certificate in Sheet Metal Work. His training and his career have taken him all over the world as a specialist with "olde world" techniques and skills. Chris was instrumental in developing the Architectural Shett Metal Worker trade in BC and brings a passion for the trades and apprenticeship training.
